Today I noticed a white prostitute. They are not the norm in this area but there are a number of them. When I approached this woman I noticed that she had been crying. When she got in the car I said, is there something wrong? She looked at me and suddenly began to sob and cry uncontrollably. She cried for a very very long time. When she stopped and seem a little more controlled I began the interview

Me: Why are you crying?

Her: I was just raped at gunpoint.

ME: Oh my God! I am so very sorry.

Her: This guy stopped and picked me up for sex. He drove to a alley off Brookfield and put a gun to my head and forced me to have sex with him. I thought he was going to kill me. I thought; what will happen to my baby?

Me: (She started crying again. I didn't know what to do so I patted her shoulder? I felt stupid and ineffectual)

She: I had stopped prostituting. I am on the methadone program.

Me: Methadone program?

Her: Yeah I am a heroin addict, so to stop I joined this Methadone program. They give you Methadone then you do not need the Heroin.

Me: So what happened that you are out here today?

She: If I had a better way to make twenty dollars ($20.00) I would not be out here. I needed the money for some diapers for my baby. So I thought one or two “dates” and I will have enough

Me: How much do you charge

Her: Twenty dollars ($20.00) for sex and Twenty dollars ($20.00) for a Blow-job

Me: I said thank you for the interview and images can I take you home?

She: Yes I live on McCulloh Street.

I took her home and photographed her in front of the house next to her’s. I gave her twenty dollars ($20.00) and wished her good luck.
